Best beanie I've owned
I actually bought this as a replacement for the last one, which, I sadly lost. I'm holding out hope it will turn up at some point but had to get another until then. Here's what you need to know:
1. It's super lightweight and packs down too almost nothing.
2. It doesn't itch your head (unlike every beanie I've owned prior to this).
3. It looks good too. The reversible colors are nice for matching it up with different clothes.
4. It's not crazy warm so get something more heavy duty if you're heading to Antarctica but for most trips, it works great.

Oustanding & Unrivaled
I commute on my bike, trail run and boulder during the winter and this beanie is been first-class. It covers the ears, fits the over the head well, & without excess bulk - this comes in handy when wearing a helmet. I have had other name-brand beanies in the past, but this one doesn't itch, and being it's merino - doesn't stink.
In regards to durability I have had the beanie for ~18 months and does not show signs of wear. I also own two icebreaker tops that serve as a baselayer during the cold months. I wear them almost every day during the winter and there are minimal signs of wear - I have owned one of the tops for ~6 yrs.

My new favorite Hat
What a great hat for running in the cold weather. I don't like too much coverage, but sometimes I do need to take care of my head, and this hat does a great job. Just long enough to cover my ears without being too bulky and compact enough to tuck in a pocket if I need to vent.
It's always a good sign to see the condensation on the outside when you take it off.

does its job, with style...
...insofar as a beanie is stylish. And, in no particular order, so far so good: (1) it is lightweight and compact, & is therefore easy to take on day hikes with significant temperature/wind changes; (2) it is reversible, if you care about color coordination; (3) it is warm; (4) it fits well (on average size head, covers ears); (5) it stays put.

Great hat, bold color
I love that this hat is warm and packs so small. I'm taking it on my trip to France this spring and wanted something just like this. But I got the ruby ripple color and it's a bit darker than the picture looks. But I love the fit and feel so I'm keeping it!

My Go-To headwear
I bought two of these, one for the outdoors and one for wearing to and from work. I love the warmth and wicking ability of this beanie and the bright colours. No merino product has ever bothered me, but when I'm super sweaty, my forehead does itch a bit. Not a big deal and not enough to go back to synthetic products.

Nice fitting running hat
The Icebreaker Unisex Pocket 200 wool hat is a great addition for my cool/cold weather running gear. For me there are two things I care about. 1) will it completely cover my ears? 2) will it keep my bald head warm?
Resounding "Yes" on both questions. For #1, I do have larger ears so it isn't often that I find a beanie type hat that fits right (comfortably).

awsome hat
I just bought 2 of these hats for work an Im going to buy another one,its small size fits in my pocket when its to warm to wear it ,and I love the fit ,its exactly what I was looking for,and very awsome service by altrec as always

My wife loves this hat, she literally wore it every day last winter! It is thin enough that she can wear it under her bike helmet on cooler days, or as a liner under another hat when it is really cold out. This is the softest wool outerwear I have ever encountered, very few itches. If you're looking for lighter weight insulation for your head on fall or winter days, this is an excellent choice.

excellent lightweight hat!!
i bought this one just in case i lost the one i already have or in case they decide to change the style for some odd reason. i don't get cold too easily so i like the fact that this hat is lightweight and compact so i can keep it in my pocket just in case (hence the name "Pocket 200" whaddya know truth in advertising) the first one i bough and still have is now 2 or 3 years old and i LOVE the stupid thing!! it fits great under a ski helmet, another hat or just sitting out on your pointy pate! if you're one of those folk who get super cold really easily you might wanna step up to one of their 300 or 400 weight hats or move south. no matter what you can't go wrong with icebreaker! i would marry this company if i could!!! LoL

no more pulled or broken hair
My ski instructor recommended this to wear under my helmet. As his wife so correctly pointed out , it protects your top hair from being pulled or broken while skiing with a helmet. It also keeps your head nice and warm. Once again, my husband followed my lead with new icebreaker items and is wearing the same cap under his helmet , just because it feels comfortable. Even if you aren't allergic to polyester and many manmade fabrics as I am, Icebreaker wools are terrific.

great pocket sized hat
great little hat. purchased this for skiing but took it on my trip to India for when the weather got colder. you wouldn't figure India would be under 40F in November but it did and this keep me warm during those nights. the only bad thing is that it can get a little itchy on the forehead when you wear it for too long.

great hat; great price
I have bought this hat several times as gifts and everyone (including me) loves it. The fit is great and I have long thick hair which I can easily fit under the little hat. It's reversible which is really nice too! Great for working out or for around town.

Great for cold runs
Perfect for cold weather jogs. Covers ears, doesn't slip off, keeps my head warm.
Personally, I would only wear this hat when exercising. Unless you're the type of person that perpetually dresses as if you're heading to your next athletic endeavor, this hat does not cross over to everyday casual wear.

This is a beautifully made merino wool hat. Super soft, great to wear under bike helmet. The black with purple lining is very attractive. And great price!!!!!

nice hat
fits good warm. I will probably get another one. like the color and doesn't seem to fall off like other hats that i owned. it's light and fits in my pocket.
