Die teilweise gepolsterte Konstruktion verfügt über entscheidende Stützzonen im Achilles- und Ristbereich, während der verstärkte Fersen- und Zehenbereich die Socken strapazierfähiger macht. Der nahtlose Zehenbereich reduziert Masse und beugt so der Blasenbildung vor. Inspiriert durch die Natur macht sich icebreaker die Funktionseigenschaften von Naturfasern zunutze, um eine Alternative zu synthetischer Kleidung zu bieten. Merinowolle ist eine jährlich erneuerbare Faser, die von Natur aus der Geruchsbildung entgegenwirkt. "I like these socks and I have worn them in the full range of temperatures throughout the year here in central oregon. I have worn them many days in a row on several occasions. I handwash all my icebreaker clothing with a teaspoon Kookaburra and good to go for days at a time. I wonder if I am washing too much.
