Details

Combining the soft warmth of merino wool with a full-coverage design, the Oasis Balaclava is for those who don’t let nasty weather ruin their day outside. Made from 200gm, 100% merino wool jersey, the Oasis offers midweight insulation and breathes efficiently on highly active days up on the mountain or out in the cold. The overlap opening provides better protection in nasty weather and pulls down under you chin in milder conditions. We also included a small ventilation flap over the mouth for better breathability, and flatlock seams to eliminate chafing.

Great warmth to weight

"I love this fabric but the cut/form isn't quite what I had hoped. The front has good length which helps eliminate drafts but the back doesn't do the same- I fix this by also using the Flexi Chute. For skiing I prefer to have my nose uncovered/uncoverable so I don't fog up my goggles too bad and this doesn't have the same hinging flexibility as some other balaclavas I've tried. I still would recommend this quite highly. It's nice and thin hasn't stretched out or had any issues in the wash doesn't get stinky and adds great warmth"

"I have been using Icebreaker gear for about 3 years now after learning that they don't absorb odors like synthetic base layers do. Just as importantly their gear holds up in the laundry. Pieces from lesser brands making merino base layers fall apart pretty quickly. This piece in particular is fantastic- It fits my head perfectly for layering under my helmet. Despite plenty of sweat my skin stays dry. I couldn't ask for a better fit!"
