Reviews

I'd love this in a slightly longer length.

"Great fit, I like the look on the model, but as a size L they ride up a bit, so a little longer length would be good. Otherwise, nice colour and very comfortable and the usual wonderful merino wool properties."

100% merino shorts-unique

"I ordered these shorts because they are 100% merino wool. It's hard to find such a product on the market. They are very nicely made. I haven't worn or washed them yet. The only downside is that, like all Icebreaker products, they have polyester threads."

Time will tell

"I am a newcomer to icebreaker. I noticed the brand because I was looking for some thermals. Oasis 200 were nice and are the keepers (very happy I managed to get them at sale prices too). Then I decided to check out other items, such as these shorts. I saw the reviews saying that these shorts come up a bit small. They do not. My recommended size on Icebreaker website is Small and the shorts in Small are relaxed fit. I tried them on after lunch and no, they did not pinch at the waist at all, there was a bit of room. I am a little chubby right now as it is winter, so unless they shrink they would be even bigger on me come Summer. I bought Medium as well because of the reviews but the Medium ones are simply huge and I will be returning those. I am not 100% about the material, it seems quite thin. They also crease very easily, and I only tried them on briefly. So I am not a total convert. I did not like the logo, it stands out too much. If you want me to be the advertising board, you should pay me actually :D I'd say at £75 in a sale they are still too dear. I definitely would not pay full price. I have a few tailored 100% linen shorts I bought for maybe £30-40 a pair and I prefer a bit more structure and more weight to the material for the shorts generally. I am still thinking. In summer I mainly do gardening and I have a feeling that these shorts would get totally destroyed very quickly if they came into contact with brambles. I'd probably be better off with denim for that. They could be OK for gym workouts, but the waist band is a bit too rigid. I am not quite sure what they are actually meant to be for. Maybe golf? I am a bit put off by how easily they crease. I did not expect knitted shorts to crease. So they are very thin soft shorts that also crease easily and the waist band is quite rigid. I find it to be a somewhat odd design."

Waist is tight

"These shorts are cute and fit well except the waist is a little tight. I sized up and the fit isn't perfect, but it's hard to find wool shorts so I'll keep them."

Interesting shorts, very different

"I wanted to try these shorts as they were cute and very different from everything else I have. They are nicely done and of high quality, but I have mixed feelings about them based on how they fit me. I usually wear a medium but I went through the sizing process and a large was recommended. I did purchase the large and was glad I did as the medium wouldn't have fit given the waistband has no stretch to it. The shorts themselves are loose with lots of flow, but the waistband has me hesitating as it's not very comfortable with no give to it. Especially when sitting for a while. Were it not for the non-stretch waist, I would recommend without hesitation. Not everyone will object to the waist so I hope it's helpful to know that the product is high quality."
