Details

The Shell+™ Peak Hooded Jacket is an innovative technical shell made with merino wool. The jacket's woven merino fabric features a PFC-free DWR finish to shed wind, snow and light rain, and is seam sealed for added moisture protection. The three-way adjustable storm hood fits with or without a helmet, and the high collar is shaped for comfort and added protection. Articulated sleeves enhance range of motion, and zippered alpine hand pockets and a ski pass pocket keep your essentials secure.

Am very contented with this purchase

"I use icebreaker quite often so ordering, paying and quality are all excellent. This jacket is really nice, keeps the rain off well, provides a small amount of warmth, looks great and doesn't cost the earth - I mean the environment. I use it as a one piece fling on to go outside in spring and autumn, and except when the weather is really cold, layered over a jumper or a merino mid-layer in the winter. It looks great and the large pockets work well. I am very happy with this jacket and plan to use it more. I do not pack it in a rucksack because it is a little bit bulkier but if I was going for a walk and not going to carry a rucksack I would use this if I thought the temperatures were going to stay in its range."

Good idea, poor execution

"A full merino shell jacket, no synthetics - fantastic. Features are nice; elastic adjustable waist, adjustable wrist cuffs, nice overhang hood, awesome vibrant blue colour. The fabric is thinner than I thought it would be at this price point as well, but being a shell, could still compensate with thicker mid layers. The cut is AWFUL. I wear a M in most things, but I take a L in icebreaker gear and it gives me a bit of wiggle room. Got this in a L and it fit like a size S in the shoulders with the rest of the jacket being normal. Very pear shaped - narrow up top, and VERY short sleeves, especially for a shell which is supposed to cover your other layers. No idea who thought this through, but they could have had a winner with this if they made it well."

I would buy this again if I ever need another new ski jacket

"Feels very well built, the hood is big enough to fit over a ski helmet, it is waterproof, it checks off all the boxes. With a sweater underneath, even on cold winter days I felt warm. And I love the blue!"
