"This inner layer is to replace a previous very hard wearing version which has lasted for over 10 years and innumerable washes both and when travelling and at home in the machine. In the cold, it is a warm layer next to the skin and when hot it prevents too much direct sunlight on the skin. The merino wool is fine, light and soft."
