Does a good job and is a lovely garment to boot

"This merino mid layer is brilliant for what it is, a mid-weight layer in wool which keeps you warm even when you perspire. This model does not have a hood making it better for lightweight packing as a back up or spare mid-layer. The breast pocket is really handy for your phone for example. It does stop the wind reasonably well and I often walk in it, with a lightweight base layer, maybe silk or HH polypropylene, in the spring and autumn when others are wearing their shell jackets. The construction quality is great and I have never had a problem with it, and it is a nice colour, kind of bright but subtle at the same time, very pleasant. It washes with Sonett's olive laundry liquid for wool and silk which I use, comes out lovely and soft with no need for softener. It dries fairly quickly as well, in the airing cupboard for example. This is for me a trouble free and high performing garment."
